Biography

After about 10 years away, Dr. Kuehnel was happy to return to UW to join on as faculty. He started his academic career by completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin--Madison before attending medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He subsequently completed his Pediatrics residency at Lurie Children’s Hospital with Northwestern University, before returning the MCW and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin for his fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Dr. Kuehnel has developed a record of accomplishment in both Quality Improvement/Safety Science and Operations. His current focus is on continuing to make each visit for our pediatric patients safe, efficient, and highly satisfying in his role as medical director of pediatric emergency medicine with the University of Wisconsin Department of Emergency Medicine.
