Dr. Sara Damewood honored with Innovation Award from ACEP's Emergency Ultrasound Section

Congratulations to Associate Professor, Dr. Sara Damewood, on receiving the Innovation in Clinical Ultrasound Education award at ACEP's annual scientific assembly in Denver, CO. Dr. Damewood was selected by peers and the leadership team of ACEP's Emergency Ultrasound section for her significant contributions to the development and implementation of point-of-care ultrasound education. 

Dr. Damewood is recognized as a leader in the clinical ultrasound community. She serves as the chair of the ACEP Ultrasound section simulation subcommittee, as well as chair of the Society of Clinical ultrasound fellowships program development committee.

Sara Damewood, MD is the Emergency Ultrasound Section Chief and Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship Director at the University of Wisconsin Department of Emergency Medicine. She oversees all aspects of ultrasound operations and education for all levels of learners. Under her leadership, significant advances in archiving and reviewing clinical ultrasound images have led to improved ED patient care. She developed a clinical ultrasound fellowship in 2014, with graduating fellows serving as ultrasound directors in regional EDs.
