Biography

Dr. Steuerwald completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, as well as an EMS fellowship with UC Air Care. He has been an active EMS provider since 2004 and currently serves as Director of Emergency Airway Management and as a flight physician with UW Med Flight. He is active in numerous professional organizations, including the Society for Airway Management, National Association of EMS Physicians, Air Medical Physician Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Steuerwald medical interests lie within the realm of prehospital and retrieval medicine, specifically emergency airway management and overcoming airway challenges through education and innovation. He is the Associate Medical Director for The Difficult Airway Course: EMS™, which teaches an evidence-based, algorithmic approach to emergency airway management for EMS providers. Dr. Steuerwald holds board certification in emergency medicine and EMS
