Biography

Dr. Kaitlin Ray is the Assistant Program Director for the emergency medicine residency program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is a graduate of Duke University for undergrad, and subsequently completed her medical degree at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Dr. Ray completed her emergency medicine residency training at Northwestern University in Chicago where she served as Chief Resident. While in residency she completed the Medical Education Clinical Scholars program and served as chair of the McGaw Housestaff Wellness Committee. Since joining faculty at UW, in addition to her residency commitments, Dr. Ray serves on the Department of Emergency Medicine Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and serves as a stakeholder for the Group on Women in Medicine and Science at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.

Her professional interests include leadership development, residency education, women in medicine, the role of coaching versus mentorship, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Dr. Ray enjoys running, swimming, live music, cooking homemade pasta, and spending time with her husband and miniature dachshund, Hank.
