Biography

Angela completed her master’s in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience and behavior from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Gerontology. Her research interests include memory impairment, chronic stress and loneliness in aging populations, and neuropsychological interventions. Angela supports the Geriatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network 2.0 – Advancing Dementia Care (GEAR 2.0 ADC) study at the UW Department of Emergency Medicine. The department's Vice Chair of Research, Dr. Manish Shah, is the Co-Principal Investigator for the study, which is funded by a $7.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health across four U.S. sites to conduct research that could lead to improved care in emergency departments for people with dementia.
